So here’s the secret to our special sauce.

He was part of the team that single-handedly evolved and elevated the modern Filipino restaurant scene in 2003.

He helped a corporate employee married to an OFW retire from their day jobs to start their own Italian-Pampageno restaurant.

He helped a client stuck in a creative rut to build a Latin American restaurant born out of her fascination with telenovelas.

A Singaporean investor once dubbed him as the Don Draper of the hotel and restaurant biz. And he is our founder, Cyrus Cruz.

Cyrus Cruz is a Filipino-American hotel and restaurant marketing consultant who geeks out on all things food. He could sit in a new restaurant for 1 hour, just interviewing the waiter, observing guests, watching the hustle and bustle, and sampling the dishes and by the time the hour is up, he would have already computed in his mind if the said restaurant is running a healthy business. Although he studied Sociology at the University of Oregon, that sort of odd skill is something that can only be explained by 20 years of actually living and breathing all things restaurants.

And although his love for food started at an early age, his professional life started with the Chateau 1771 Group (Sentro 1771 fame) where as a Brand Manager, at one point he was simultaneously running six restaurant and hotel concepts. With Chateau, he learned not just the brand management side of it but also had a fully immersed first-hand experience of operations, finance and customer service experience, to the weekly marketing campaigns. Up to this day, he calls his experience with the Chateau 1771 Group as the most world-class real-life classroom he could ever gain knowledge from.

He realized that there was a unique demand for Chefs and Restauranteurs to hire someone with his background to optimize their own businesses. His first client was secured in 2009 and the rest you could say, is history.

10 years after deciding to fly solo, Cyrus Cruz celebrated the 100th restaurant he has ever launched back in 2019. He has clients all over the country—from Vigan to Bohol, from Pampanga to Lipa, from Quezon City to BGC, from a Singaporean company foraying to the Philippines to soon a brewery concept in the USA. And without exaggerating this, Cyrus Cruz’ Food Agency Firm can be your secret sauce to restaurant stardom.
